Martian Manhunter and The Human Torch "In the Clutches of Kang!"

I know that the Avengers movies are all leading towards Thanos, and that's fun to anticipate.  Still, the one Avengers villain that I would love to see (after Ultron, already getting my wish there) is Kang.  The time-travelling aspect to this foe means that they could introduce all kinds of heroes into the mix.  The success of X-Men: Days of Future Past shows that audiences are ready for time spanning superhero epics, so let's make it happen, Marvel!

The potential problem I see there is what happened to Trek: everything was about time travel, allegedly because they found out that "City on the Edge of Forever" was a popular episode of TOS.

Unfortunately they missed the part about it being a good story too.....

Not sure where Eric's coming from. I don't see where "everything was about time travel" in the 3 years of Trek. Several episodes utilizing time travel, certainly. I doubt a large percentage were about time travel. Insofar as his inference of other time travel Trek stories not being good, I will simply point to Star Trek IV.

I'd love to see a war between Vandal Savage's Kha-Ef-Re and Pharaoh Rama Tut.

@Eric & @Anon: Remember, there were far more episodes of Star Trek in which aliens adopted cultures and motifs from Earth history (e.g., "A Piece Of The Action") than episodes in which the crew actually traveled back in time. They've met Nazi aliens, Roman Empire aliens, aliens performing Shakespeare, Jack The Ripper, the aforementioned Chicago mobster aliens, etc.

I was referring to Next Generation, Voyager, and the movies.

Again; the only Star Trek film that had time travel was the third sequel with the original cast. "STIV: The Journey Home." As for any alleged over-abundance of time travel stories on the spin-off series? That was finally explained in STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE starring Scott Bakula. A temporal Cold War waged by a multi-caste race called the Xindi!
