Hercules and OMAC

Thor: Ragnarok is getting great buzz and looks like it will be the most crowd pleasing Thor movie yet.  That's good new because Thor has a nice deep villains roster and with Chris Hemsworth still very much in shape, there's no reason the series should conclude at three.  I would definitely like Hercules to be introduced in the next installment, should there be one.  I always loved the interplay and rivalry between him and the God of Thunder.

Another great cover Ross. I was wondering if you chose to not make it another all Jack Kirby cover on purpose???

Because all Perez covers are cool too.

Interesting menace! Is that one of the Crimson Dynamos; or an initially miscolored Asgardian Destroyer?

Am I right in thinking that that came from a 'DC Present', cover, originally with Superman helping Omac?

(By the way, I recently acquired a complete set of John Byrne's 'Omac' limited series -- the B&W one -- and it's definitely worth reading...)

That was a robot from OMAC's continuity, I think. The original cover features Superman instead of Hercules. I think it was from the 80s, when Perez did some of his best work.

Yes its from a DC Comic Presents issue. It was tougher than it looks, I had to recreate lots of the robot that was covered with captions, logos and word balloons on the original.

The DC Comics Presents was one of my favorite covers did by George Perez. I was disappointed he only did the cover. I like the modern OMAC created for Infinite Crisis and later the New 52 but this version is my favorite. And SimReeve I have that mini-series and I agree it is worth the read. At the time it was a great explanation of how the 2 OMACs (Kirby's and at that time the modern version) could exist at the same time.

Nice cover. I'm not very familiar with OMAC, always thought he was an interesting character. The two Bob Layton penned HERCULES mini-series done by Marvel in 1982 and 1984 are great.

As far as HERCULES on film. I have been very disappointed by the latest couple of movies that came out in 2014 (Kellen Lutz and Dwayne Johnson). They just can't seem to get it right. I actually find the Kevin Sorbo TV series (as cheesy as it was) to be better.

Since Asgardians are effectively Superhuman aliens in Marvel movieverse I wonder what they would make the Olympians?
